Occam's Razor

Well, I guess you could use this in another way, did the Universe start with the Big Bang, or all the other numerous theories out there or was it created by God.

I think the universe never was created, on long time and distance scales it is on average the same. As you may recall I am very anti-big bang and if I were a theoretical physicist I would be spending my time trying to disprove big bang theory. At some point I will do an epic post on why I think the big bang theory is flawed.

The concept of a creation is complex and in my personal view, irrational. Occam's Razor in terms of creation would go something like:

The universe is and always was.

Seems pretty simple... more so then a deity thinking about how and what he should create and come up with a bunch of rules about the way the game is played, making sure those rules were consistent with each other, etc.

Now I might be more inclined to agree with you if you said god and the universe are one in the same, eternal. Or maybe God is life, something created out of the elements here on earth? God being apart of the eternal universe is a little more inline with the Occam's principle.
